About the Kooringal Senior Amateur

The inaugural Kooringal Senior Amateur was played in 2013 and was well supported and very positively reviewed by participants. The course was in great condition and the club did a great job organising the event. It is epected to be very well attended this year as the opening event of the 2014 calendar.

Event News

Ian Frost from Rich River / Bendigo won this year's Kooringal Senior Amateur with 2 good 74's to beat Rob Wallace from Midlands (76,73) by 1 shot on a countback over Kym Olsen from The National (75,74).

The Nett event was won by Paul Gooley from Chirnside Park (Nett 71,71) by one shot over 3 others, Robert Wallace, Stephen Valentine from Kew and local Grant Arnold.

There was again a good field of women with Sue Mawhinney from Portsea wiinning with 70 stableford points and Jill Morrison from Midlands winning the gross with 52 points.

The course was in very good condition with quick but true greens, and the weather was fine.  A feature of this event is the appearance of past great Australian Amateur Kevin Hartley who assisted with presentations and brought along some of his memorabilia.
