Barry Tippett followed up his solid win in The National Senior Masters last week with another solid winning performance at Warrnambool. His two 74s won him the event over Trafalgar's Jeff Hasthorpe (75,75) by 2 shots, with a further shot back to ex local Ray Walker. The win propelled Barry to the lead in this year's Bachli rankings.

The Nett was taken out convincingly by local Peter Lumsden (Nett 70, 68) by 4 shots from Jeff Hasthorpe and a further 3 shots back to another local Ken Heazlewood and overnight leader Peter James from Woodlands.

There was a ladies event with a good field where local Diana Robinson won the Gross and Nett convincingly with 85, 78 off her 10 handicap.

In his acceptance speech Barry emphasised what great condition the course was in and the good job the club did in their inaugural Seniors event. The weather was very kind and the club went the extra yard to ensure the event was a success. There were a great variety of prizes including the offer of a Yamaha Golf cart for a hole in one on the 15th, which was almost won by Greg Welsh.DSC00097
