Doug Francis from Metropolitan (79,71,73) won this year's Victorian Seniors Amateur in a close finish just one shot ahead of club mate and early leader John Kelly (70,79,75). There were a clear 4 shots back to third placed Gordon Claney from Kingston Heath (82,72,74). This is the "young" Doug Francis' 2nd win from 4 Bachli events, a great start to a promising future in Seniors golf.
Guy Krall from The National (75,70,71) won the nett event by 2 shots over John Kelly and by 3 ahead of official runner-up Ian Mcleary from Kooringal (70,71,78).
The event was played at Bairnsdale Golf Club rounds one and three with round two at Lakes Entrance, and the event attracted a very good field of 118 players. The weather conditions were great and the two very different courses presented in very good condition - the overall condition of Bairnsdale was impressive and the greens at Lakes Entrance were exceptional.
