John Kelly from Metropolitan won the Victoria Senior Amateur with a very good par round of 71 for a 3 shot victory over Kim Johnson from The National on countback over Gordon Claney and Ian Donaldson from Yerring Meadows. John has been a very consistent performer on the seniors for a little over 12 months but this was his first victory, and his acceptance speech indicated his happiness with the victory.
Peter Duscher from Coomealla won the Nett with a very good 67 on countback over Geoff Besgrove from Yowani (ACT).
A good field of 88 players enjoyed windy but relatively good conditions to enjoy the very good course conditions of the Victoria golf course. As in the past, the hospitality provided in the fine traditional club house was terrific.
