Stan Davis from Bendigo won his first Seniors scratch event at this year's Heathcote Senior Amateur. In very good conditions he carded a 3 over 74 to beat John Kelly from Metropolitan by 1 shot with another shot back to local, Dean Jones. Stan has been a regular seniors player for a number of years and although he is often thereabouts, this was his first scratch win - a fine achievement these days off a 5 handicap. He managed the tricky greens very well with only one 3 putt, on his first hole.
First timer Shane Hearps from Heywood won the Nett even with a fine 67, 2 shots ahead of runner up Kevin Robinson from Buninyong and Stan Davis.
The women's event was taken out be Vera Lund from Kooringal with 34 points, 1 point ahead of club mate Heather Harley.
This event was the first seniors event where the gross event was an open event for both men & women.
