DSC01330DSC01330Gordon Claney asserted himself again at Cobram with another resounding win in the Cobram Barooga Senior Amateur. He had the best round of golf each day and even had the second best Nett score overall off his plus 1 handicap - a very impressive performance. His 1 under the card gross total (74,70,71) beat Ian Frost from Rich River by 11 shots (78,74,74) with a further 2 shots back to David Robb (77,75,76) from Corowa.

Graeme Brierley from Clifton Springs playing in his first Seniors event also streeted the field with his Nett 71,69,71 to be 4 shots ahead of Gordon Claney and 10 shots ahead of Nett runner up Paul Fink from RACV (80,71,70).

The event was another terrific success. The weather was perfect, the courses were in great condition and the club and Golf Director Justin Spierani ran a great event. There were 106 players in the main event but on top of that challenge, they concurrently ran 2 other large competitions - a stableford event for longer handicappers and a large women's field. Everything ran smoothly, and this event has the largest number of prizes of any Seniors event.
