Kym Olsen at his home club won this year's Green Jacket at the National Senior Masters with a great performance over 3 days (70, 71, 70) to be 5 under the card and 7 shots ahead of another local, runner-up Mark Limon (73,73,72). Simon Bracegirdle (another local!) (71,74,76) was a further 3 shots back in third, after being the runner up last year. Kym's Nett score, off scratch, was also 6 shots ahead of the next best Nett score.

This win consolidates Kym's leadership in the Victorian Bachli rankings and elevates him to third in the Australian Senior rankings.

The Nett event was taken out by Rex Suckling from Belmont (NSW) (Nett 69, 77,71) by one shot over Ian Donaldson from Yerring Meadows.

The National Golf Club and Adrian Barr put on another very successful event such that it is becoming recognized as the best Seniors event in Australia. Entries tend to confirm this - a capacity field of 192 players where the handicap cut to make the field dropped well into single figures. Players come from around Australia and overseas. Adrian Barr who also takes responsibility for the weather turned on perfect conditions for the three days - not the typical Cape Schanck weather.

The Opening round was played on the Moonah course, round 2 on The Old course and there was a cut to play the 3rd round on The Ocean course. The cut field of 100 is made up of the top gross scores and some of the top Nett scores, with the remainder of the players having another round on The Moonah course.National201711
