Kim Johnson from The National won the Mornington Senior Amateur with a 76 at Portsea Golf Club to win by 3 shots over Stephen Valentine from Kew. Also on 79 were Stephen Day from Ballarat, Ken O'Brien from Rossdale and Ignatius Duivenvoorden from Yarram.

Ignatius won the Nett event convincingly with his Nett 65 leading the field by 5 shots. Mark Dunstan from Spring Valley and John Mack from La Trobe had Nett 70's.

Clare Murphy from Mornington GC won the Women's event with 29 stableford points and the scratch event was taken out by June Tickell from Trafalgar with a fine 32 points.

Monday morning at Flinders was fine and warm but a cool change thru' for the start of play in the afternoon. The first nine was played in windy and wet conditions until lightning caused the abandonment of play. The event was reduced to an 18 hole event at Portsea but with points awarded still as per a 36 hole event. The weather was ideal at Portsea the next morning.Mornington2017
