Gordon Claney won the 2017 Alpine Senior Classic at Bright Golf Club following up on his victory at the Cranbourne Seniors. His two sub par rounds of 71 gave him a resounding victory by 6 shots ahead of runner up Ian Frost (73,75) with another shot back to third placegetter Greg O'brien from Albury.

Bill Black from Rutherglen took out the Nett event with a good opening 77 nett 69 and followed up with a Nett 72 to win by one shot over Ross Bottomley from Torquay (72,70) with a further shot back to Commonwealth's Graham bone (70,73). This was Bill's first victory in a seniors event.

The Women's event was taken out by Box Hill's Jenny Long with 68 points and the scratch event by Susie Dawes from Yarrawonga with 57 points.

The Bright Golf Club put on another great event with a capacity field - the course was in its usual great condition and the weather was close to ideal - a little warm and some light rain for a short while in the second round. The good scoring was reflected by the good weather & course conditions.
