Bryce Birtwistle from Sandhurst won the Gardiners Run Seniors Amateur with a fine 2 under par 70. He beat John Kelly from Metropolitan by 2 shots with another shot to Guy Krall from The National.
Guy Krall won the Nett event with a Nett 69 on count-back from John Wilson from Yarrawonga Mulwala with another 2 players also on 69 nett.
The women's event was won by Tina Cowie from Tambo Valley with 36 points and Sue Lush from Eastern won the Scratch event with 25 points.
The event was played in good conditions but the course was very wet after a lot of rain the day before. The greens were in great condition and much appreciated by Bryce Birtwistle in his acceptance speech.
Next year the event is to be played over 2 rounds in February where we should see the course at its best. With the good attendances for the first 2 years a good turnout is expected for the 36 holer in February.
