DSC00826Greg Rhodes (67, 68, 72) has won his first Victorian Seniors event by a mere 28 shots! As he is still working he has focused his few opportunities to play golf on National ranked events apart from this his home event. He played Coomealla last year and was surprisingly beaten into 2nd place - he made no mistake this year with scores that confirm he was in a different class to the rest of the field. He had returned from representing Australia against NZ at Sanctuary Cove the previous week.

There were 3 sub 80 scores round 1 and Greg's 67 had him 9 shots in front of Alan Bullas (76,78, 81) from Commonwealth with a good 76. The dominance continued through the next 2 rounds. Greg playing off plus 2 even streeted the Nett field by 4 shots! Greg beat Alan Bullas by 28 shots with a further 3 back to well performed Chris Tatt (79, 77, 82) from Buninyong.

The Nett event was dominated by the locals (7 of the top 8) - Stan Prymke (75,69,73) by a shot over Steve Morrell (77, 70, 71).

The Coomealla event was again very well run and supported by the Club. The course was in great condition, weather conditions were great compared to the rest of Victoria and a great array of prizes offered every day but the attendance was disappointing - hopefully the word will get out again and the numbers improve significantly next year.
