DSC011991A good field of 83 men and a good womens field competed in another popular and well run event at Port Fairy. A little rain day one and a stronger wind day two made conditions difficult but the course was in excellent condition and the hospitality again terrific.

Gordon Claney (72,78) from Kingston Heath won the event by 1 stroke from Hilltop’s John Keller (76,75). Gordon opened with a terrific 72 especially given it was his first round at Port Fairy, and John finished strongly with an excellent 75 in tougher conditions day 2. Gordon finished a good year of a limited number of senior tournaments by winning the last 2 events.

The Nett event was won by Stephen Day (69,70) from Ballarat beating Woodlands Peter James (67, 74) by one shot.

Marilyn Takle (35,36) won the women’s stableford event by 4 shots over Peninsula’s Jenny Tilbrook on a countback over Judy Magill from Warragul.
